I am Dr. Jason E. Rower. I would first like to share with you a little about myself and the reason why I became a chiropractor.  I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I received my Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College in 1992.  I then entered into the post graduate program and began working towards a Ph. D in Biology.

During this time I was a very dedicated cyclist.  I was riding both recreationally and competitively.  The problem was that when I rode long distances I developed excruciating low back pain.  I saw my medical doctor who prescribed anti-inflamatories and muscle relaxers, but the pain continued and was slowly becoming worse.  My doctor suggested that maybe I should  see a chiropractor and that's when my life changed.

The chiropractor took a thorough history and did a thorough exam and explained to me that the bones in my back and hips were misaligned and not functioning properly.  He found that one leg was shorter than the other because of the misalignments in my back.  He then recommended a series of chiropractic adjustments to correct the cause of my problems.  Soon I was not only riding my bicycle again, but I was feeling better than ever. That experience left a lasting impression on me. I knew then that I wanted to be a chiropractor.

I then entered Life University in 1994 and received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, summa cum laude, in 1998.  The chiropractic curriculum  is a four year program that requires study in the fields of anatomy, physiology, pathology, chemistry, diagnosis, neurology, x-ray and orthopedics, as well as kinesiology, spinal biomechanics and other fields related to the chiropractic specialty. I graduated in the top of my class and was 1 of only 12 students out of 4000 who successfully completed the academic requirements to become a supervising resident in the college's outpatient clinics.

Professionally, I am board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  I have a masters certification in the treatment of whiplash related injuries and spinal trauma from The Spine Research Institute of San Diego.  I am certified in the treatment of upper and lower extremity conditions by the Motion Palpation Institute and I have completed additional training in Chiropractic Biophysics and advanced spinal biomechanics.    I am also a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Maryland Chiropractic Association.

For the safety and well being of my patients, I continue my professional development and pursuit of excellence by participating in continuing education and studying the latest advances in several health related fields.

I believe that chiropractic is about helping people achieve their personal goals.  Listening to my patient's describe their goals and expectations is one of the most important elements of the process.  Each individual is unique and I treat each patient as I would a member of my own family.  People who have made the decision to go to a chiropractor deserve to go to a doctor who is highly experienced, compassionate and attuned to their specific needs.

There was a time in my life that I really relied on drugs . . . Dr. Anderson taught me that I was not doing anything better for my body by relying on drugs. He explained that I needed to get to the root of the problem by finding what was making me feel bad in the first place. I made the decision that I was going to invest in myself and my healthy. Since then, I've been making healthier choices and living a healthier life. I sleep well, have more energy, and living pain free! The investment was totally worth it!
